What are the main drivers of cloud service adoption?

The market for cloud computing is quite happening right now. But even though the service has established a firm footing and proved its utility, it is still in its nascent stage and being chiseled constantly.

Numerous factors will steer the course of the market in the coming years. And even though there is no doubt that cloud services translate into cost savings, various questions about their functional uses need to be addressed. Businesses have cited numerous considerations apart from cost benefit when it comes to adoption of this technology.

Firstly, utility is one of the biggest USP of cloud services. But things that will keep the demand going in the future are mobility and flexibility. Easy access of data and location specific services will be needed. Also, scalability has to be considered. Many users are asking about the magnitude of workload it can support and the volumes of resources they can access. Another reservation is about the elasticity of cloud services. Technology evolves continuously and so the service should be adaptable to new devices in the market such as the latest versions of smartphones, tablets and other gadgets. Even time to service has been cited as a concern. Cost was primarily an issue for firms who were looking to expand the scale of cloud services they had already deployed.

There are various other considerations also which will affect the future of cloud services.  Big data and analytic’s is one of them. In addition, social or collaborative endeavors as well as mobile or location specific benefits will also pave way for market development. Other aspects that will affect the market are media and entertainment along with e-commerce and payments.

These are basically the factors that will push the market demand, but apart from these, even supplier efficiency will play a big role in their adoption and acceptance.

Suppliers will have to rig and upgrade the infrastructure to boost consumer acceptance. Operational competence, security measures, strategic formations, reduced IT services, hardware infrastructure, data-center storage and upscale internal networks from suppliers will shape its future.

However, there is no arguing that the future of cloud computing is quite dazzling. The system has mostly been implemented for web hosting  email messaging, storage solutions, back-up assistance and disaster recovery. And till now customer satisfaction has been high. Cloud services have mostly received superior reviews. Their penetration in the market is quite substantial but the scale of adoption can be widened and even their longevity will be put to test in the forthcoming years. Additionally, it must be noted that cloud computing will affect the way data flows between entities. So, the way these services affect interactions and operations will also define their market demand. Actually, chances are high that internal organization and delivery arrangement of these services will go through an overhaul.

All in all, the service is here to stay and it is the user needs that will mold the delivery and operations of cloud computing.
