Vmware Launch Infrastructure as a Service in there Cloud Arsenal

Vmware, the leader in virtualized infrastructure, plans to introduce Infrastructure as a Service some time later this year. IaaS will work with Vmware vCloud Hybrid Service alongside Vmware’s virtualized infrastructure. The proposed Vmware vCloud Hybrid Service will retail through resellers, initially in the US starting next month, and later on in other parts. However, there are no definite plans about a global rollout. vCHS, claims Vmware, has support for over 90 operating systems and thousands of applications.

Any in-house system can be moved to the cloud without the necessity of having to rewrite applications since the existing tools will also cover vCHS that is interoperable with existing infrastructure. The process of bridging private and public clouds becomes painless, enabling smoother transitioning with the vCHS process. Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Vmware stated that the company’s mission is to simplify IT and aid the transition to cloud by delivering services according to their expectations.
